CBD oil is all the rage these days, it seems to be popping up everywhere. When new things like this come out and become more mainstream and popular these buzz words come along with it. If you are anything like I was you have heard about the CBD oil Entourage Effect and said what the heck is that?
I was first thinking about a show I used to watch and said, oh that can’t be it. And strangely it kind of was. I am here to give you a nice, simple explenation of what the entourage effect is when it comes to CBD oil.
The Entourage Effect
Bascially the entourage effect is using the whole hemp plant to achive the maximum benefits. Mounting evidence in research studies suggest that medical substances such as hemp CBD oil may be more effective in their whole and natural state. This entourage effect or synergistic effect, happens when the multitude of components within the cannabis plant interact with the human body to produce a stronger influence than any one of those components alone.
Think of it this way, when you order a burger they could just bring you a plain old hamburger patty. If it were me I would be sitting there going well I guess this will satisfy my hunger but I won’t be very happy about it. But other people would be like hey I don’t like all the other stuff on there just give me the burger. This is like taking just a CBD isolate, it does the job for some people but not for everyone.
This is like getting “full spectrum” CBD oil that has all the cannabinoids (over 100 of them including CBD and THC), flavanoids (compounds in plants which give plants their pigmentation (color), filter out UV rays, attract pollinators, and prevent plant diseases, shown to have beneficial effects such as: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, and anti-allergic activity), and Terpenes (organic hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants, they give hemp its smell, taste, and color, it also gives the CBD oil its identity and can change the effect of the oil), and fatty acids (omega-3’s and omega-6’s). This is the CBD oil that most people use and have found the greatest beneifts from.
The entourage effect is the synergistic effect of using the whole plant in your CBD oil instead of a CBD isolate. It is obtained by using “full spectrum” CBD oil that can contain trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%). There are many companies that offer “full spectrum” CBD oil with 0% THC as well. These are great if you are worried about taking a drug test, which you don’t really need to be.
When you are looking for hemp CBD oil I recommend using the “full spectum” kind but like I said that isn’t for everyone. If you like the CBD isolate and it works for you, awesome! If you aren’t sure which one you will like better, get both and see which one works best for the effect you are looking for 🙂
